Isaiah's Missionary Letter " Ngisafunda ukukhuluma isiZulu"

I'll let you all figure out what I wrote for my subject line. Sorry I didn't write last week. For one nothing too interesting happened and two, we spent most of the day cleaning because we had boarding checks. And when they do boarding checks here they look at everything. But thanks to our efforts, we had the cleanest boarding out of the three here in Madadeni.

There is one missionary who is going home next week so we have been spending a lot of time with them recently. He has been ready to go home pretty much since the day that I met him. During off hours we play cards, get pizza, and I also made a cheesecake that surprisingly turned out really good that we shared with them. They don't have a car but we do, so recently we have been driving them around to their appointments, and then we go to ours own as well. The real reason for that is because they dont want to bike anymore. Plus there area is mostly flat, mine on the other hand is filled with ups and downs with crazy guys with shovels. But we kind of do this quad exchange ever so often. Keeps it interesting.

Maybe you can infer what the subject line means after this story now. We had this one member refer a friend of hers. So we had the opportunity to have a lessons with her and some of her kids. She doesn't understand english and we dont understand Zulu. So luckily they had a neighbor that was able to translate for us. The lessons itself went really well and she was asking about the process of doing the Church and other really good questions. If it was up to her she probably would get baptized as soon as possible, but her husband isn't liking the idea. She has high hopes for him that he will start taking the lessons but for now, we cant meet at her house anymore, so we have to find a new place to teach them. We also would then need someone else to translate for us as well. So that is all in the works of things.

We have also been teaching a bunch of these kids at once. It started with Siyanda (who might get baptized this sunday), then his sisters, now some more of their friends. So Siyanda might get baptized this sunday as well as one of his sisters. The other sister unfortunately is leaving for some time to work for her uncle some place else. But we might have to push back the day because of how fast that happened and we want both of them to be baptized at the same time.

Some news with the mission, we are about to double the amount of missionaries in the next couple months. Next week 20+ missionaries are coming in, then in another three weeks the tumor is that another 20 or so are coming. So our guess with what is happening for at least this transfer in a week I will stay and train a new missionary and my companion will leave. With so many missionaries coming in, there will be more areas opening up so I keep telling my companion that he is going to whitewash (which means open a new area where both you and your companion dont know anything about the area) and train. Our mission President prett much said "buckle up Elders. Things are changing." So that is what's been happening here recently.

Elder Leuck

P.S. So the subject line says that I am still trying to understand Zulu if you didnt get that already.
