Snow Camping!

For a few months now, Connor and Grandpa Jensen have been planning to do a snow campout, since Connor never got to do one when he was in scouts.  They decided to do it over mid-winter break so they could utilize a day off of school for Connor.  Grandma and Grandpa Jensen made the trip from Utah to Snohomish and the fun began.  The weather forecast was expecting lots of snow at Steven's Pass, plus lots of cold weather.  Below is what Connor wrote about the trip.

"We got at the campsite at about ten o'clock. The car registered the outside temperature at six degrees. No only was that bad but the wind was blowing hard which made it even colder. We pushed through the cold and set up camp. Working in the snow made us warm up so it was easier. After lunch, we heard a crash and discovered that a truck had slipped of the road due to the icy roads. Us and other people helped the driver who was badly injured. Not soon after that, we decided to pack up camp because of the freezing cold weather."

Grandpa said when they were trying to lite the small propane stove to cook their dinner (around 4:00'ish), it was so cold that the stove wouldn't start.  That's when they decided to head home.  It would have been hard to not have a warm dinner or breakfast.  Fun memories!!
