What is worse than biking, is to have to bike in our suits five miles to go to church. Then bike back five more just to change out of our suits, then to go back out to our area and come back at night. Total of twenty plus miles and its still 80+ degrees during midday. Definitely not my favorite day. Other than that we haven't had too much luck with non members, although we have two possible potentials. We'll probably stop by this week. If you remember from my last email about giving away a book of mormon, turns out that one of the members knows Brenda and was able to give us an address. We try the door some time later, not her. Some other person named Brenda that had no idea what we were talking about. So that kind of fell through the cracks. We still have no idea where the Brenda that we gave the book of mormon to lives, but hopefully she contacts us.
Another funny story is that we were planning on stopping by a member to talk about her neighbor who is a Do Not Contact. After our last house we got talking about the do not Contact and we decided to stop by the member to learn more. We also talked about that its important not to intrude on do not contacts and that if anything were to happen it would have to be through other members to bring them to the gospel. I tell my companion that the address is 552 from what I remember but he pulled it up and it was 556. So we then knock on that door and a lady opens up looking very annoyed and we ask if this was the member we were planning on visiting and she said no, she lives next door and quickly shut the door. He accidental had the address up for the Do Not Contact. Let's just say though that I was kind of laughing pretty hard about the irony in that experience.
Yesterday was really awesome. Its p-day and we went over to the other apartment with the other sets of elders and had breakfast there. Then we went and playing ultimate frisbee for an hour. Then we switched it up to ultimate with a football. After that we had lunch, then another set of missionaries called and wanted to do ultimate. So we played another two hours of ultimate. I haven't ran that hard in a long time. We were all exhausted. After we had dinner along with another set of missionaries (four total missionaries) with a part member family and they were pretty cool. They don't even live in our assigned area but my companion new them from his old area and just like having us over. After dinner we actually got to carve some pumpkins with the family. For Halloween we might be going back over to their place with the other elders for a bbq. This week has been pretty good (other than Sunday's twenty miles) and look forward to see what happens with these potential investigators.
