The Eldest – is 16 and no longer needs the “chauffer of shame” AKA “Mom”, to drive him to work and other places. It also means dating, but that would require actually talking to a girl, which has rarely been seen in the wild. His one true love is football, followed by reading and working hard in school. He’s our little (ok, not so little anymore) nerd! He still plays the piano beautifully and has performed a few times this year, with the biggest performance being the accompaniment to the stake seminary choir. He had another great year in football and continues to fight for that starting middle linebacker position and he started earning college credits
as he is participating in the ‘college in the high school’ program.
The Middle – is 12 and that means that everything my husband did as a child is now showing up in our lives reincarnated as a smaller, more stubborn, more
determined version of him. He is ridiculously clever, makes us laugh every day, is extremely gifted on the piano and reminds us of his dad when dumb stuff happens to him too. He is obsessed with getting good grades and is constantly looking online at his homework and test scores and he is now in the rotation at church to play the organ during Sacrament meeting. He had a great football season and
played a lot more defense which he’s decided he really likes. It’s more fun
to give pain, than to receive it.
The Girl – is 9 and fabulous! She loves to sing and dance all the time, everywhere she goes. She was in the Peter Pan play as one of the mermaids, did an excellent job and completely fell in love with being on stage. She loves to read and surprises us all the time with the number of books she goes through in a week. She continues to play the piano beautifully and
is still the tallest kid in her class. She loves art and is constantly making
or creating something to give to someone. She is very thoughtful and
is always sharing her testimony with her friends at school.

We’ve been very blessed this year and have felt the love of our Heavenly
Father that so often it’s made us feel like it’s Christmas every day. We know Jesus Christ lives and is our
Savior and Redeemer.
Merry Christmas!
Love, John, Melanie, Isaiah,
Connor & Sophia
